Cellulose esters are the most important representatives of water-soluble polymers and therefore are widely used in various fields of industry, including the paint and varnish industry. LITHOCELL™ cellulose thickeners are easily soluble in cold and hot water, and are used to produce solutions with a wide range of viscosity values. Such solutions are pseudoplastic – their viscosity varies depending on the level of effort applied. They affect not only the viscosity and rheology of water systems, but are also used as:
- viscosity modifier
- rheological additives
- film-forming machine
- protective colloid
- water-retaining agent
- stabilizer
- auxiliary means for dispersion
The line of Lithocell thickeners includes several different types of cellulose esters:
